XC Medico® Intramedullary Expert TN Tibial Nail System
Proximal Locking Options:
1.Three locking holes, three options, in combination with locking screws, increase the stability of the proximal fragment for proximal fractures.
2.Two medio-lateral (ML) locking options enable primary compression or secondary controlled dynamization.
Distal Locking Options:
1.Distal oblique locking option to prevent soft tissue damage and increase stability of the distal fragment.
2.Two ML and one antero-posterior (AP) locking options for stability of the distal fragment.
Nail Design:
1.Anatomic bend for ease of nail insertion.
2.Titanium alloy TAN* for improved mechanical and fatigue properties.
3.Cannulated nails for reamed or unreamed techniques, enabling nail insertion over guide wire.
End Cap:
1.Securely lock the most proximal oblique locking screw to create a fixed-angle construct.
2.End cap prevents ingrowth of tissue and facilitates nail extraction.
3.Cannulated.
Locking Screws:
1.Titanium alloy TAN* for improved mechanical and fatigue properties.
2.Self-tapping screws.
For different fractures:
1.For proximal tibial fractures: three locking screws in the proximal oblique locking options, two ML locking options, a third locking screw in the AP hole.
2.For shaft fractures: two proximal ML and two distal ML locking screws are normally sufficient to stabilize the simple shaft fracture.
3.For proximal tibial fractures: three or four distal locking screws.
